Improving Bone Health and Falls Prevention

Interface Clinical Services recently partnered with Hadrian Primary Care Alliance (HPCA) to improve outcomes for patients at risk of fragility fracture and to promote improvements in bone health across the federation.

HPCA is an alliance of 14 GP practices with a population of 78,000, 23% of whom are over the age of 65 whilst 6% are aged over 80.

With the annual cost of fragility fractures in the UK at £2.3bn, the opportunity to implement a fragility fracture prevention programme across Northumberland CCG could yield savings of £5.3m in the next 5 years.
