Interface Attend the University of Chester

The UK is seen as a global leader in real world healthcare data, however we are just at the start of a data revolution both here in the UK and globally.

Jim McArdle, Commercial Director, was invited to speak at the recent University of Chester IT conference aimed at undergraduate and postgraduate IT students.

Jim stated, ‘in 2012, healthcare data mining equalled 500 petabytes (1 petabyte is equivalent to 1,000,000 gigabytes), yet this figure is due to rise exponentially, with projections for 2020 stating 25,000 petabytes of healthcare data will be captured globally. For the UK to remain on the front foot, it is imperative that more IT professionals join the healthcare sector.’

It is estimated in the next four years, there will be a 50,000 shortfall in IT graduates in data security alone. Jim shared practical examples with the audience of how Interface Clinical Services have embraced technology, IT data mining capabilities, and clinical expertise to further improve patient outcomes.
